Hesby Oaks Parent Enrichment Fund (HOPE)

Hesby Oaks Leadership Charter, a 2021 California Distinguished School, is consistently ranking among the top primary schools in the state and local area due to its outstanding programs, practices, closing the achievement gap, and exceptional student performance. These achievements could not be done without you and our amazing parent involvement and financial support of the HOPE Fund as well as the excellent teachers and staff at Hesby Oaks.

Why do we need the HOPE Fund?

The HOPE Fund bridges the gap between the basic, minimum funding provided by LAUSD and the essential 21st century resources, services, and equipment necessary to promote the highly successful learning environment at Hesby Oaks School. Simply put, public funding alone does not provide for enrichment programs, nor does it guarantee academic excellence for our children. That’s why we need the HOPE Fund, and that’s why your donation, in any amount, is critical.

What does the HOPE Fund pay for?

The HOPE Fund is vitally important to the education and enrichment of all Hesby Oaks School students. The HOPE Fund, NOT LAUSD, pays for the following enrichment programs and enhancements; programs that helped Hesby earn its California Distinguished School award and continue to be such a great school:

  • Classroom Aides: to help reduce student-to-teacher ratios

  • Classroom Stipends: provided to every class to fulfill the needed supplies for instructional teaching

  • Art Program & Teacher: art supplies and creative instruction by our great art teacher

  • State of the Art Science Lab: extensive experimental supplies and hands-on lab for our science instruction

  • Computer Lab & Teacher: HOPE raised funds for a brand new computer lab with state of the art technology and also supports instruction by our computer lab teacher

  • Physical Education & Teachers: playground equipment (balls, jump ropes, hula hoops, and more); all under the instruction of our amazing PE teachers

  • After School Sports: providing students the abilities to participate in extra circular sports under the instruction of our phenomenal coaches

  • New Library: HOPE raised funds to revamp the library including a complete update of books, new stage to allow classroom presentations, new technology system, and a librarian

  • Culmination Activities

  • Additional Days of School Nurse

Through your donation to the HOPE Fund, you support our incredible programs, services and staff that make Hesby the exceptional public school that it is.
