Weekly homework packets come home every Monday. Please try and only complete the work that is assigned for each day. Return homework on Friday in folder.

Spelling:

Students will create a list of spelling words in class based on the focus spelling sounds listed on every homework cover sheet. Look for these lists to come home every Monday. On Wednesday we will have a practice test of at least 25 words that may be on the Friday test. Please make sure your child studies these words. The six vocabulary words are to be memorized and are on the cover sheet of the homework each week. You may even want to practice the meanings of the vocabulary words with your child. These words come out of the story that we are reading every week. We go over these words in class on Monday and throughout the week, but they will be tested on them as part of their Spelling and Comprehension tests on Friday.

Math at Home:

The Math at Home journal can be completed any day of the week, even though it is assigned for Wednesday. Students should be able to demonstrate how they came up with their answer through pictures, tables, or number sentences as well as write a sentence or two about their thinking. We did three problems in class. Please refer to these as examples of what their answers should look like. Parents, please make sure that this is returned each Friday. I will grade it over the week end and it will be returned to your child with Monday's homework packet.
